Jerzy Buzek launches Twitter account - "It's time to Tweet"

The President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek has today launched a Twitter account: http://twitter.com/jerzybuzek  

President Buzek is the first President of the European Parliament to use Twitter.  The President already has an active Facebook account http://www.facebook.com/jerzybuzek and Twitter adds another format for communication.

EP President Jerzy Buzek said:  "It is a pleasure and a need to use all forms of communication.  The European Parliament is increasing influential and must be increasingly present.  Modern technology including social media gives people the opportunity to interact and have their say.  My Facebook account has been quite successful, and I have decided today to launch my Twitter account as another communication tool."

The President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek's first Tweet reads [original text in English]:

"EP is working on hearings of Commissioners-designate, we will vote on Commission on 9 February, more on my website: http://bit.ly/5BlR74"
